During the first few years of Delta's existence, tremendous growth and the establishment of chapters throughout the nation provided the Sorority wtih a geographically and culturally diverse membership. During the 1925 National Convention in Des Moines, Iowa, Regional Conferences were installed as a permanent institution with authorization to convene in April 1926. This structure provides unique advantages for internal development and furthering of Delta's mission, ideals and principles. Every biennium, sorors gather from around their region to enjoy fellowship, strengthen their bonds of sisterhood and plan for meaningful, relevant public service.
The Midwest Region of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an eight state geographic area that encompasses Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
